Standing Stone
The sun was gone and it was windy. I moved to the hollow of the rocks to get protection from the wind. But a slight shower "attacked" my painting. There was still one hour to wait before the next bus, so I began to walk to the hilltop where the Macleod's Stone is. It is reputed to have been erected by prehistoric man as part of a calendrical system- at the equinoxes the sun sets exactly due west over St Kilda, 60km away, as seen from the stone.
