West Sands #1 I alighted from the sleeper train at Edinburgh Waverly station. The first train to go to Luchars had already gone while I was unable to make up my mind whether I should go beyond Luchars, thereby taking advantage of the unlimited ride of the railway pass. Eventually I took the next train departing from Edinburgh at 8 o'clock and headed directly to St.Andrews. I was able to get the bus, after a short wait, from Luchars station to St. Andrews bus station. I left my luggage in the locker of the bus station and went to the sea.
