"Osborne House #2"
Queen Victoria died here in January, 1901. During her rein Britain experienced an industrial and social transformation and a massive expansion of the Empire. In the meantime France was in the midst of the Belle Époque era and the United States was in her Gilded Age. Prince Albert took part in the design of the Italianate towers, the terrace, and the formal garden which confidently and prosperously dominate the strait where yachts are sailing gently.
