"Stirling Bridge"
The present stone bridge replaced a succession of timber bridges from about five centuries ago. The yellow tower-like building in the background is the Wallace Monument. The white scratches in the foreground are cow-parsley on the bank of the River Forth. The Battle of Stirling Bridge, where Wallace and Moray overwhelmed the English, took place here in 1297.
