"The George & Pilgrims", Glastonbury
We arrived at Glastonbury by bus from Yeovil to see the exhibition of Lucey Willis, my favourite watercolourist. We wanted to leave luggage and go to see the exhibition and the cathedral before we checked in at the suburban holiday cottage. The George and Pilgrims Hotel dates back to the 1400s. The barman, Paul, kindly looked after our luggage. He married a Japanese girl, and showed us their baby on his smart phone. I gave him my Pub Sketches booklet, and he said he was the former manager of The Warwick Castle pub in Maida Vale which appears on the first page of this booklet.
