"Thrushes Nest", Ross-on-Wye 31/07

Sir Frederick Burrows lived here. He worked as a railway porter and finally became the last governor of Bengal in 1945. It stood facing the vast riverside village green. I painted this picture from under the shade of a tree. Again, the sunlit building and the stonewall were beautiful with the shade of the trees.
