Reigate Hill On New Year’s Eve I went to bed early and woke up 12 o'clock to the sound of fireworks. I noticed the change of year and then went straight back to sleep. On the next morning, of the 1st of January, we went to Reigate Hill, one of the seventh highest points in Surrey at 723 feet (220 m), to walk Peter’s dog, Candy. I painted this freezing-cold scene from the hill-top pavilion.
