Rose and Crown Nympsfield
It was a very wet day. I found shelter from the rain opposite this pub. It took almost an hour to finish this picture. Meanwhile Peter walked his dog, Candy and they were chilled to the bone. They tried to go into the pub for a cup of coffee, but were told it would open one hour later. So they had to wait in the car.
In many cases meticulous work spoils the unique characteristics of the artist, I believe. That is why I don't use pencil drawing outlines under my painting. I accept every "accident" as an interesting part of the character of my paintng. |
