"High Down Inn" Two years ago I couldn't visit "High Down Inn" which I saw from the bus window between Fresh Water Bay and The Needles. The road is too narrow for double lanes. So the bus which returns to Ventnor takes another route. This time we were able to get off the bus on the way to The Needles. But the pub was not as idyllic as I had anticipated. Interestingly High Down is the geographical name. Down is derived from a Celtic word for "hills".
