"Slanj #1"
I asked the waiter who is the co-owner of "Slanj" one of the two local pubs in Tarbet, "What is the equivalent of Irish coffee in Scotland?" He answered "It's a Gaelic coffee." To me his Scottish pronunciation sounded like "Garlic coffee!" And I asked what is a sanny on the menu, "Isn't it a sanitary towel?" He answered, "It is a sandwich", in Scottish English. I was enjoying asking quesions, eating, drinking, and painting as much as possible. |
