"The Old Fire Engine House" One of the purposes of my trip was to see the Cathedral and eat eel in Ely. I read The Lonely Planet and it said "Eels are a local delicacy served in several of the restaurants. A good place to try them is at Ely's best restaurant, the Old Fire Engine House". . . But they didn't serve any eel! I asked the local couple at the next table. The man said that eels had disappeared a century ago!
