"Gyles House," Pittenweem.
This building at picturesque Pittenweem harbour must be the most painted scene in this area. I,for one, painted it for the second time. Gyles House was built by the shipmaster James Cook, not the famous explorer! At the end of British Civil War Charles II was completely routed by Oliver Cromwell at the Battle of Worcester, and he was smuggled to France by this James Cook.
