"Ashton Memorial"
Lord Ashton built this 150-foot-high memorial as a tribute to his late wife in 1909. It was drizzling so I painted this picture from the roofed viewpoint of the Memorial. If I could have entered the Memorial, there must have been a vista of Morecambe Bay and the Lake District on a fine day, but it was shut.
