"The Exeter pub", Uppingham
After Market Square, I walked along the high street looking for a shelter from the rain from where I would be able to paint the school buildings. I ended up at The Exeter. There was only the barman Mike. We chatted for a while and then Alex came in. I showed my paintings to them and they were delighted with my loose-style colourful paintings. Within a few minutes Alex suggested I go to the most prestigious gallery here, "The Goldmark", in his car to promote my paintings. Alex introduced me to the owner and staff and left. I talked about and showed them my pictures and brochures, but they didn't seem overly enthusiastic about my paintings.
