"Bentley #1", Derry
The wall itself runs up and down according to the terrain and has quite a wide wall top. It was built in the early 17th century to protect protestant settlers from England and Scotland. In 1688 the Catholic army attempted to enter the city but the gates were shut. The Siege of Derry was ensued. It lasted for 105 days and thousands of people died of starvation.
