In the 18th and 19th centuries The Riverside was busy with boat building and related domestic industries. Pleasure boats which navigated the picturesque Wye River were hired from inns on the riverside. Now I spread the sketch book and the palette on the garden table and enjoyed painting over a pint of beer.
