"The Old Sun Inn", Saffron Walden 18/08
The day before, when I was painting "The Old Sun Inn" which is in a row of grade I listed homes and shops with many different types of decorative plaster work, it began to rain. I stopped painting. The rain was coming down in real earnest and such rain was the first time I had experienced it since I landed at Heathrow 08/07. Later I returned here to resume painting. The first wash for buildings and the road had already been done the day before, so I could get on immediately.
