The West End On the way from the Isle of Wight to Stratford-upon- Avon I missed the ferry at the Ryde ferry port and the train at Southampton Central station. I was delayed about two hours in Southampton. It had been a month since I left Japan. I was on a long break actually, but I needed another break within the break. Now! On this trip I lost something important-a little paint box which I think is the most necessary item for painting, especially pub paintings. I also lost sketch pads, pencils and thick ball point pens. Those are only material things but I am also missing some other things which have been in my mind for a long time. I couldn’t paint a big picture on this day. Almost two thirds of my favourite pub, “The West End” was occupied by a private party. I could paint many backs.
