"The Tolbooth," Stirling.
The last picture of the day was The Tolbooth. The first tolbooth I painted was the one in Kirkcudbright last summer,and I painted another in Crail on this tour. There are many tolbooths now converted to centres of culture in towns around in Scotland. Maybe the door with a big arch in the middle of this picture is a back-stage door. A man who looked like an actor came outside for a smoke.
