"The Haven's beer garden", Cellardyke
I didn't know the word "Haven" and took it to mean the same as heaven, and could not comprehend the reason why heaven was at the harbour front. The harbour was known by some people as Skinfast (firm, solid, strong against attack) Haven which was the old name for Cellardyke. It seems sensible that this pub bears the name Haven which welcomes fishermen at the end of a hard and sometimes dangerous day.
