In the summer of 2011 I returned to the UK for the fifteenth time and painted 101 pictures whilst visiting Croydon, London, St. Andrews, Elie, Edinburgh, Glasgow, the Isle of Arran, Belfast, the Giant's Causeway, Bangor, Conwy, Betws-y-Coed, Dolwyddelan, and Tenterden, and then back to London. I am lucky to have many friends in Ireland, and the UK. I will retire this coming March, and become a full time artist. I will return to the UK on 2012 May 22.
Best wishes,
Shuji Uehara
Two weeks ago north east of Japan was attacked by horrible disasters, the earthquake, tsunami, and nuclear reactors' crisis, one after another. Fukushima Daiich had been puffing a plume and leaking the radio active particles. I threw my lot with my customary getaway to Bali, whereas my wife canceled this tour because she thought there's no getting out the country at stake.
There wasn't a long queue at Immigration at Heathrow but I had to wait for two hours in the bus queue. There was only one bus service to Paddington, and no trains nor underground running on Christmas day. I had dinner (my fourth meal in a long transfer day) at a Lebanese restaurant called "ALWAHA".The ink in my ballpoint pen had run out and I couldn't draw contour lines so I just put on colours on my first food picture.
